4 and 20

^^ The name of a song by Joss Stone which is my new favourite, look it up and do a little jazz swaying wherever you're sitting.
Latest big thing would be the completion of my HSC, which has given me oodles of free time! I finished on the 29th of October, and have since watched 3 seasons of Gilmore Girls, attended flea markets, acquired all formal attire and related items, bought 31 books for about $60, watched movies, and caught up on season 6 of Criminal Minds (without JJ mind you, saddest thing of my life).
Today entails Paranormal Activity 2, which I'm both excited/a little scared to watch. My trip to Melbourne is in about 4 weeks, I'm meeting up with friends from Tumblr, and I cannot wait to see them, it will be the best thing in my life.
That's about all, the book I'm reading at the moment is called The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan, and it's amazing. If you're a fantasy lover, read it. It reminds me of Lord of the Rings, which just makes it more amazing.

Death by modules

1 down, 6 to go. 2 hour English exam tomorrow on my modules, I am drowning in a sea of quotes, techniques, themes, and the occasional 'To be or not to be...'
12 more days and then I'm free to go crazy! Okay, so my definition of 'going crazy' really involves watching tv/movies/shows online, reading thousands of books, playing computer games, blowing lots of money when I go to melbourne for a week in December with le sister, saving lots of money with my (hopefully) recently acquired second job (Cafe Longshot at Beecroft for the people who actually read this) and buying things online, such as my recent purchases of the first 3 seasons of Bear Grylls, Man vs Wild, and the first 11 movies of the Land Before Time. This will be my life, and I cannot wait :)

Majors of Mayhem

So I went and saw all the majors of my friends from Cheltenham Girls tonight, they were all so amazing. I loved the drama pieces, they made me laugh so much! My favourite was the last one, funniest thing ever. Favourite music performance was by a lovely girl called Mckenzie who I had met just an hour before. Her voice is like a combination of Regina Spektor and Julia Stone, I could've listened to her all day! It kind of makes me annoyed with myself that I don't have the confidence to do anything like that. I even get embarrassed singing in front of my family!

I saw heaps of people from primary school, and it wasn't too awkward, so it was pretty good. From awkward little waves and smiles, to quick catch up conversations and hugs made the reunion side of it good fun.

Last early morning class tomorrow, I'm thinking an early morning Maccas run is in order...oh wait, I don't have my P's. Might just have to stick to the jam toast and coffee.

Guess who's back?

And yes, I'm pretty sure that you all just thought 'Slim Shady'. Ok, well maybe not, but that's cool. So I kind of missed this blog, and I'm annoyed with myself that I gave up on it quite easily.
Why I'm starting it again 4 weeks before HSC, god only knows, but procrastination is how I roll.

What's been happening over the past month you may ask? I actually don't think I can remember. So for a quick summary, I'm going to dot point my life away. Let me just consult my oh-so-convenient diary.
  • 50's fair, which was absolutely amazing. So many people dressed up with quiff hairstyles and beautiful cardigans in one place. Swing music and vintage sales and Thai food. 50's handbags and hair salons and cute boys. I wish I lived in the 50's. Anyway...
  • Numerous cups of coffee, books, a plethora of Glee and Mad Men episodes, and music.
  • New songs on guitar and piano.
  • Recent obsession with The Beatles, particularly rekindling my love for Hey Jude
  • And tomorrow I'm seeing my friends from Cheltenham and all their major works. Should be fun but I'm a tad nervous about seeing people again! I wish I had more social confidence! Ah well, we'll see how it goes.
So that's about all in my life. I just can't wait for school to be over (5 more days!) and then for HSC to be done and finished. Then I can finally go to uni and meet new people and start living my life. I don't think I've ever been more excited in my life :)

SO past neglect it's not even funny

Soooo. It's been 11 days since I lasted posted on here, which kind of makes me sad, but then again I'm not all that worried about it.
I quite like my Tumblr at the moment, so that's my main form of blogging. And I know lots of people like that, so I'm considering just posting rarely on this one, as it has now become an effort. Plus, nothing all too exciting happens in my life, which is a little sad. I don't have a lot of freedom and I don't have exciting adventures to blog about.
So yep, that's about it for now. I guess I might be back later?

Le sister

Here's a little dedication to my sister. Hannah can be a 'slutty whore' (as we like to call each other) at times, but we're always on each other's side when it comes to battling against the parents. She is the best distraction from study possible, and we have most likely the weirdest sense of humour in the world, and I guess I love her for that.
Pretty sure my life would be a bore without her.

Holy moly me oh my

It hasn't sunk in yet that I have my first HSC exam tomorrow.
What's that I can hear? The sound of your disbelief at the fact that I have a HSC exam on a Saturday? Yes, I think it is.
Who even invented that preposterous idea of exams on the weekend. I hate you government.
So, yes, at 12 tomorrow I will be at Regents Place, speaking Japanese to some random markers for 10 minutes. I know, it doesn't seem like a lot right?
But my god is it the longest 10 minutes of your entire life. Just horrible.
So anyway, the thing I'm looking forward to is coming home and watching Live From Abbey Road that I taped on Thursday night, it's the Beatles dedication one, so I'm mass excited to grab a cup of well earned coffee and watch it!
Then Ancient on Tuesday and PDHPE on Wednesday, ears pierced for the second time on Wednesday afternoon, and then Melbourne from Thursday to Saturday with le mother!
While there I'll be looking for a formal dress, meeting up with my lovely tumblr friends who reside in Melbourne, seeing Mary Poppins, and going to the Tim Burton exhibition!
THEN I'M FREE. Until HSC.
I could not be more excited :D
Here's a little tune for you, Cross Your Fingers by Laura Marling. Taught myself this on guitar the other day. It's so lovely!
Plus, I just convinced mum to make me chocolate chip cookies. Winner.

Ok, so a bit of an overload

This is the third time this week that I've read The Catcher in the Rye. Yes. You heard, well, read me right, three times in one week. I don't even know why, I've never done this with a book before!

Every time I read it I discover something new, a little element that I must've skipped over during the first few times I read it. It's really great, I love finding that about a book, just noticing those little details that make you see the whole novel in an entirely different way.

I'm so excited now that English Trials are over, I can finally attack that mammoth book pile that has been patiently awaiting my eager eyes and hungry mind.

Must. Devour. New. Penguin. Classics. Now.

Here's a little snapshot of just some of the books, the rest of our classics are out in my sister's room. Why? Simple, I ran out of room on my three bookshelves.

Dedication galore

Sigh! Today has been SUCH an emotionally draining day. People are being insecure and I'm going around convincing everyone that they're beautiful and worthy of everything in the world, because quite honestly, my friend's happiness is all that matters to me.
Also draining as I've been trying to convince them all that I myself am not amazing as they say I am. I'm really not. I hate that they're wasting their compliments on someone like me who will never believe it, when they could be telling someone who deserves it more. Sigh. ANYWAY.
My beautiful friend Lora is having a bad week this week, so I thought I'd just give her a quick mention here to try and make her smile a bit :)
She's pretty amazing overall, I'm at a bit of a loss as to what other word could describe her. Maybe something along the lines of edgy/crazy/cool/individual/brilliant/stunning, only to name a few. I'm honestly so happy that I know someone as amazing as her :)
Yep ok so now here's a video of my favourite song for the week, courtesy of this brilliant girl and her amazing taste in music, Fifteen Floors by Balthazar.

The General Specific

Had my English Trial exam today, wrote a good speech and a decent essay. The same will not be said tomorrow, death by modules.
These photos are the result of 2:17am procrastination from Saturday night, I got bored and had no internet due to restrictions put in place by my parents.
The other is the autobiography of Bobby Sands, called 'One Day In My Life', it's at the top of my post Trials purchase list. For those who don't know, Bobby Sands was an Irish man who died on a hunger strike while in HM Prison Maze. A movie was made in 2008 about said hunger strike, it's called 'Hunger' and it a work of brilliance, I strongly recommend you make this a priority watch.
Also discovered this weekend was the photography of James Nachtwey, who photographed the war in various countries. The photo I uploaded is from Rwanda, of a man who survived the Hutu death camp. His pictures are amazing. Here's his gallery, if you go to Deeds of War, then the first photo is from the Bobby Sands hunger strike.
Currently listening to a playlist made by my lover Lora, the song in the title is one of my favourites off it, along with Fifteen Floors by Balthazar and Sunlight by Harlem Shakes. She really does have amazing taste in music, massive respect.

Hear it, hear it, ticking, ticking

This ticking may well just be the sound of my life slowly running out of time, my Trials start in 5 days. First HSC exam in 10. Holyshitbitchdienow.
Spent my computer lesson at school looking for more shoes online, time well spent I'd say. Here's my urbanoutfitters hoard which FINALLY decided to arrive, after 3 weeks of waiting.
Nothing exciting in my life right now, I guess I'll be back sometime soon to rage about school and how nonchalant my attitude is to school now. Whoopee.

Neglect (plus maybe a bit of reclusiveness)

I have partaken in massive neglect of this blog, which actually makes me a bit upset, as I promised myself that I would try and post at least 3 times a week. Yeah...it's been a week since I last posted. Some things my week has consisted of:
  • School. Not fun.
  • Study
  • Work
  • Tumblring
  • Taking photos of nature and my neighbour's cat
  • Mix tapes (cd's to be precise)
  • Dinners in the city
  • West Side Story in the Lyric Theatre
  • Musical playlists
  • Live from Abbey Road
  • New journals
  • New music
  • New books
  • New friends
  • Awaiting the ever-so-late urbanoutfitters order, it will be three weeks on Wednesday. Not happy Jan.
Trials are up and coming next week, although I have my Japanese speaking Trial in 3 days. Eep. Something I learnt today: My mum has all these liberty hair ribbons and bows, which I always wear. I found out today that I always wear the clips upside down. Whoops :)
And here we are! Some pictures of my week!
I'll be back on Tuesday night to rant about how poorly I performed in my Japanese exam.

Spring Awakening

First of all, the songs that I'm obsessed with at the moment include:
  • Mama Who Bore Me (Reprise) - Spring Awakening (This is thanks to my friend Dillon, who originally showed me the music)
  • Any Day Now - Oak & Willow. I have to listen to their music on Myspace, as I can't find a site slash program to download them. Grr.
  • I Wish - Stevie Wonder
  • Because We're Dead - Slow Club
  • Buffalo Country - Cloud Control. I have to be honest and say that I like the live version they did on Oxford Street better than the actual version. Why? I don't even know, they're just amazing live. Here's Buffalo Country live, and here's another live song they did called Gold Canary in BCS
Other things in my life right now include study...ummm...study, and...oh look, more study. How. Fun.
School's back tomorrow, shoot me dead. Japanese oral HSC exam is in 2 weeks, and Trials in 3 weeks.
Here's my crib until Saturday, thank you Hannah for going to New Zealand for a week, and granting me free reign over your room. I can assure you that my parents weren't too happy about not being able to keep an eye on me, as my sister's room is located out the back of my house. Lovely and secluded.

Home alone and happy

I'd forgotten how much I love Emiliana Torrini. Honestly, her voice and music is so amazing, I can't believe I went without listening to her for so long!
Also featuring on Maddy's Top Rated on iTunes is a band from Victoria called Oak & Willows. Listen. Be amazed. This is all.
Here is Heartstopper by Emiliana Torrini.

Violence against loneliness is not violence at all

Spent the day today just chilling, having a bit of a break from study. I've been working myself too hard, and my brain is just overloading, eep.
I had a bit of a shit morning, so my friend turned up on my doorstep with a hug and comfort food, I honestly love her to death.
Webcammed with my favourite lady, we watched each other play games, I played Zelda and she played Tomb Raider, and yes, we're THAT cool :)
Nothing much else to do tonight, back to studying tomorrow, eugh.
I just feel so blergh, all the time. And I know people have a worse off life than me, so I shouldn't be complaining. So forgive me as I wallow in self pity.

Defy Gravity!

Neglecting my blog, always a sign of study...or more like procrastination. Last time I blogged was Sunday, so 3 days isn't very good in my mind.
But honestly? My life's just been too boring to blog about.
Monday I had a 'study day' at a friend's house; ended up just drinking copious amounts of tea and stalking people on facebook, ya know, the usual deal.
Tuesday I just stayed at home and studied until work from 3-7. Pretty shit night after that, don't worry, I won't go into details though.
And today...3 guesses what I did. Yep. Got it in one. Stayed home and studied. Had a bit of a breakdown from stress this morning, my mum thinks I'm overworking myself. I just think 'trialstrialstrialstrialstrials'. Guess who's mind won?
However, I saw Wicked for the 4th time tonight! Dinner at Criniti's at Darling Harbour, then off to the Capitol Theatre. A quick flash of my ID earned me an Ozmopolitan, first time I've used my legality to purchase an alcoholic beverage :)
Most amazing musical of my life. I cannot wait to see West Side Story on Tuesday night, then Mary Poppins on the 12th of August in Melbourne!
I have no other photo to post, so here's what I wore tonight. Best night of my life when a cute boy came up to me on the train and told me that he loved my blazer and brogues. Random acts of kindness make my life.
Please ignore my horrible legs, I'm working on them. Kaythanks.

Just wreaking havoc like tumblarians do

Last night was pretty cool if I do say so myself. Started off at Gabbie's house, everyone chatting and smoking and eating some grub. Then we took to the streets. Drag racing between Lora and Dillon was quite amusing, especially when Dillon took us the wrong way. We hit up Dural Maccas, all 8 of us, and I had some lovely awkward encounters with a whole bunch of girls from my grade, while in a very tipsy state. After wreaking havoc in the kid's playroom (and using the free wi-fi to tumble of course) we headed off home, Dillon again, leading us the wrong way. Finished the night off at Gabbie's and then I went home! Really was one of the best nights so far :)
I honestly enjoy spending time with kids from out of school; they're all so different and I fit in better with them anyway. I look forward to doing it again!
Missed my alarm this morning, slept until 10, went to soccer feeling very sick (I have a cold, blergh), and am now just chilling at home. I might go and play some piano, I really need some new music for it!
The picture is of the girls in Maccas, god only knows where the guys went haha.

I couldn't help crashing sorry, my friend was being a hampster!

Last night was sooooo much fun it's unbelievable. We didn't even end up drinking, but I swear we were high or something...
We all met up at Epping station, it was so good to see my friends who I hadn't seen in years, and to meet a lovely new friend! Lora was lovely and drove us into Newtown, got a bit lost on the way around the Cross, but it was cool and we sorted it out. Ordered dinner once we got to our Thai restaurant, and the talking began. We were sitting there chatting and laughing our heads off for about 3 hours maybe? I feel sorry for the restaurant; thank god water is free because I think we used up all of theirs :) God only knows what we talked about; primary school memories, high school rebellious acts, sex ed classes, and throwing people into fences were just some of the strange topics.
Meexs gave me a record of The Beatles, which is absolutely splendid and is playing as I'm typing this, Blackbird is on right now. Gabbie gave me the book Looking For Alaska, which I have been wanting for a while, so that was amazing and thoughtful :) Hannah said mine's coming on Saturday, which I'm very excited and intrigued for :)
Overall it was just an amazing night, and we all had so much fun, so I hope we can do it again sometime :) I came home so happy, best feeling of my life.

Hey adulthood!

So I'm finally 18! It was my birthday yesterday, and I spent a good portion of it sitting at the hairdressers, chatting to the gay boy who works there about fashion and which clubs I should go to, while getting my hair done of course. Received some lovely presents from friends and family, won't go through them now, but I will tell you that I got about 18 books. That was amazing! Last night I had a gathering at my house, about 22 people including me, just a mocktail party as most of the kiddos are still 17. Everyone just chilled and had fun taking lots of photos; it was a good de-stressor from study. Here's a picture of me and a few friends, I'm obviously the one laughing my head off at god only knows what. And then the other one is all us kids in my room; they all seemed enticed by the enormous amount of books that preside in my room, as well as my 'stripey wall'.
Woke up this morning with a blocked nose and sore throat, not really a lovely way to start the day. I've been dosing up on a plethora of lemon tea to soothe my throat, and I think I've consumed enough Vitamin C tablets to last me a life time (it's not my fault that they taste so yummy!). Hopefully I'll be feeling better tonight, as I'm off to Newtown with some great girls for dinner and drinks. We're being classy and drinking on the train though, at least I can now say that I'm legal :)
While I'm spilling my life story to no one, I may as well tell you what I'm wearing tonight, as I'm very excited slash nervous about how it will look. A vintage navy blue VELVET (yes, velvet) blazer, 3/4 sleeved black top with ruffled sleeves, high waisted navy skirt, stockings, and my lovely lace up boots. I've never worn this blazer before, so hopefully it will look ok!

I need to get out more

I swear sometimes that I'm the biggest recluse known to man. It's not that I want to stay at home all day, rather that the people that I actually want to spend time with, already have plans. I don't do much with my group anymore, and the ones that I love the most go to a different school.
It's not much fun when you're stuck at home on a Sunday night, with nothing better to do.
However, there's another reason that's snuck its way into my thoughts. Trials are in 5 weeks.
Everytime I go to organise something, this little thought flashes into my brain, and I immediately have a slight internal panic attack at the fact that they're so soon. So then I make an excuse not to go out, just so that I can study.
I'm 18 in 3 days though, this is a bit of a win, wednesday and thursday and saturday should be the best days of my life.
This photograph by Jenny Holzer really describes my current attitude towards life. Hoorah for artists explaining things that I can never seem to form the words for.

Nothing a little Laura Marling and a cup of tea can't cure

Interesting night last night, I'm sure my drunken antics managed to amuse someone other than myself (here's to hoping). Text messages to friends who are very understanding, voicemail messages to people who didn't show, and being pro at acting sober in the car with my dad. Successful night? Yeah, I think so.
Hey headache, I was expecting you. But I'm sure it was all worth it, I entertained many people, and that's all I wanted!
This isn't the best photo, but it's the only one so far! We were all looking at another camera, and someone snuck a shot in.

Don't you hate it when ModCloth sneaks up on you?

I know you can't see it very well, but here I am, actually working on my ancient assignment, and Modcloth sneakily places ads at the bottom of my page, tempting me to visit their lovely site and spend my recent pay. This is so rude. And yet, so tempting.

Things that I truly miss and what I'm looking forward to

Please allow me one post to be all sentimental and shit, it doesn't happen often.
What do I miss? I miss the small things. Spending more time with my sister, the sheer innocence of youth, a stress free life, a life without hurt, being able to have fun all day and every day and not worry about the consequences that tomorrow will bring. I miss not having to make decisions in my life, I'm the most indecisive person you will ever meet, and the consequences are just starting to come into effect. Honestly? I miss living in Wagga Wagga, where I was born. I miss not seeing my family everyday like I used to when I was a kid. I miss the thought that anything could make me happy. I miss the go with the flow attitude that all younger kids have. In short, I miss my REAL life, not this fake one that I'm leading now.

What am I looking forward to? Change. That's it summed up in one word. New people, new places, new experiences. I want to leave high school and just forget it, start completely afresh. I'm looking forward to uni, and going to England, hopefully living in England one day. I'm looking forward to the surprises life will bring. And that's about it.

I guess I'm just your typical teenage girl. How unindividual.

So it's my birthday in 8 days, right? I wanted all this stuff from urbanoutfitters, so I added it to my wishlist. My mum asked what I wanted and so I logged her into my account to have a look at my list. She then bought stuff off it for me, and the little order confirmation email about what she bought is just sitting in my inbox, tempting me. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT I GOT!!!!! Worst temptation of my life. I know the photo's small, BUT JUST LOOK AT IT. All it takes is one click...

Dark side of the moon

Mum and Dad: I continue to be utterly impressed with your vinyl collection. Queen, Pink Floyd, WHAM, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Michael Jackson, and Jethro Tull are just some of the great ones! Massive respect for my parent's music taste.

Baby remember my name

You betcha! Today's record is Fame! I'm about to go through the entire collection just to see what we have, I'm hoping to find some boppy 60's ones, they're always the best. Had a good day today at the State Library, got some work done on my assignment which was great. Nothing exciting tonight, just some study and maybe a bit of Charmed (currently rekindling my love for this show). I'm also still trying to locate a bookshop that sells Mein Kampf, here's hoping that I find one soon-ish, I want to read it!!
Song of the day: Hot Lunch Jam - Fame Cast. Oh my, such a brilliant piece of music. Makes me wish that I could go to a school of music; I could just get up and start playing my conveniently placed piano in the canteen, and everyone would join in, rather than shun me.

Holidays!!

So I'm FINALLY on holidays, thank god for being at a private school, we get a week more than public school kids!
Spent last night with Alex at my house, watching horror movies and eating thai, our usual stint. Got up this morning and did a MASS organisation of my room! Now it's all clean and bright and ready for my 3 weeks of solid study WAH.
I hate it when you download a song, and it's different from the original version, it frustrates me so much! It happened to me today in fact. I was listening to a song called I Need A Dollar by Aloe Blacc (just my ghetto music) and my sister came in and said that my version was different. I then proceeded to listen to hers, which is actually the right one. But I really like the different ending to mine. So I don't know what to do, should I just keep both?
Oh plusplus, I officially have no more space for books in my room. I have 3 bookshelves, HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE! I swear I breed books or something.
Ok, end rant. This is obviously just procrastination from doing my Ancient assignment that I want to have finished in 5 days. Yeah...unlikely. Later gaters.
Ps, we had MSB day yesterday (end of term school fete thing). This is a picture of my friend Gail and I, love her! I'm on the right :)

Two Dead Boys

One fine day in the middle of the night,

Two dead boys got up to fight,

Back to back they faced each other,

Drew their swords and shot each other,

One was blind and the other couldn’t see,

So they chose a dummy for a referee.

A blind man went to see fair play,

A dumb man went to shout ‘hooray!’,

A paralysed donkey passing by,

Kicked the blind man in the eye,

Knocked him through a nine inch wall,

Into a dry ditch and drowned them all,

A deaf policeman heard the noise,

And came to arrest the two dead boys,

If you don’t believe this story’s true,

Ask the blind man, he saw it too!

Hallelujah to the one in our bones

Had a pretty good day today, bought some new rings which are quite lovely, and some white stockings to wear with my brogues!
Last day of school tomorrow, this is such a win, because then I have 3 weeks of holidays!
Plus, I'm 18 in 13 days, MEGA EXCITED :)
Here are my new rings!
Song of the day: I Can Feel Your Pain by Manchester Orchestra. This album is goddamn amazing. I can never get enough. I think I'm in love.

The rain falls and the sky shudders

It's raining! This makes my day :)
Had a particularly shit day yesterday, a bit of a nervy breakdown at school wasn't too great, but my friend Alex fixed me a cup of tea and sat with me until I was ok. She's such an angel, I love her to pieces :)
So tennis was cancelled this afternoon because of the rain, so I'm currently sitting in my warm lounge room under my blanket, blogging and watching last night's Grey's Anatomy which is FREAKING intense, people are getting shot all over the place!
Last assessment tomorrow, Japanese listening, blergh. Then MSB day on Friday, which is my last day of term!! Mega exciting :)
Song of the day: I was listening to this song in my free today, and I was all warm and cosy on the couch, and fell asleep! Mid-morning power naps are the best.

Saturday, June 19, 2010

My ultimate guilty pleasure

Ok so System of a Down in general is my ultimate guilty pleasure, but this song, just...wow. I don't know why I love it, but it makes my day. I can technically say that I can rap the clan, such a winner!

Work more, earn more, live more, have more fun

Spent the day in the city AGAIN today, for a PDHPE excursion. Got up at 5 to catch a train with a friend at 6, had some brekkie when we got into Central. Met up with the class and then went to a Human Body exhibition at UNSW then a lecture/practical thing at Sydney Uni. A bit boring, but hey, it got me out of school :) The picture is of the Graffiti Tunnel in Sydney Uni, it's mega cool and if I wasn't running to get the bus I would've snapped a few more photos!
Tomorrow holds in store a lecture at UTS and then work until 7, then study!
Song of the day: Alas I Cannot Swim by Laura Marling
Pet peeve of the day: People in my grade who possess no ounce of common courtesy. If an elderly person walks onto a crowded bus, you stand up and give them your seat, not just sit there and be little shits.

Thursday, June 17, 2010

They got homes of their own

Oh hai there pretty new shoes! Crappy photo I know, I don't actually have a decent camera, so I just used my phone. Good day today; funny train rides, walking from Central to Sydney Uni in the rain, shopping, and obviously buying new shoes!
Song of the day: Poor Little Rich Boy by Regina Spektor, love it!
Fixing myself with a cup of coffee, having a power nap after a long day in the city, and then doing some study!
Pet peeve of the day: People who walk slowly in Devonshire St Tunnel, I seriously need indicators because I overtake people that much!

Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da

Walked home with a slight skip in my step this afternoon at the prospect of a few things:
  • The fact that I had a double free
  • Coming home and playing a random record from my dad's extensive record collection (today's one was Great Hits by T-Rex, a British rock band from the 70's, pretty good music I must say)
  • Baking cookies for my ancient class for our excursion tomorrow
  • Going shopping in the city tomorrow afternoon with a couple friends, and knowing that I will be purchasing a pair of black, patent leather brogues from a shoe shop near Wynyard station (come to mamma, pretty shoes)
  • And the thought that I can blog all this and be excited about that :)
Here's a few photos of my various activities! Plus, I'm about to watch 500 Days of Summer, which I will admit to not having watched yet (I know, shock horror). Currently playing the record called Songs of the '60s, it's good, but because it's an orchestra instead of the actual artists, there's no words to the songs such as Yesterday, Hey Jude, Mrs Robinson, Hey, look me over etc etc. But that's ok, it enables me to sing it for them!
Hey there, hi there, ho there! Yes, I think starting my new blog out with lyrics from a Disney song is brilliant as well! This isn't my first blogging experience, but it's definitely a lot different from tumblr. I'm not sure what this blog will focus on, but it's going to be happy for sure :) I know that it's going to be on books, music, tea, clothes, and guilty pleasures, so hopefully some people might indulge in my fun with me!

For my first post: this is quite possibly my favourite song at the moment, Beautiful Flower, by India Arie. I really like her music, and although it's not normally my style, I still find it quite a lovely song.

And now I'm off to indulge in a cup of tea, and continue with my reading of Let The Right One In.
